We will walk you through the steps to create a new METRC connection in Appature.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Permissions

In order to create a new data connection of any kind, including METRC, the user must be an admin. Otherwise, you will not see the "configuration" menu.

Review this article for an in-depth process of navigating to the new connection screen: Setting up a new connection

Here is a short summary:

  1. Navigate to the configuration module in the top module-selector
  2. Go to "Connections"
  3. Select "New Connection"

Creating a METRC connection

  1. Once you are in the "New connection screen, you will be taken to the connection selection menu:

  2. Select the "METRC" option by clicking the "+" button

  3. You will then be taken the METRC API screen. Click the "Add METRC API Key" button

  4. A popup with then prompt you to enter your METRC API key, along with the state the key belongs to.

  5. To generate a METRC API key, see our METRC documentation here (linked aritcle)

  6. If you have multiple state keys you need to enter, you will need to enter each state key individually. Review this article (linked article) for all the METRC states Appature currently operates in.

  7. Once your key is entered, click the "Add" button. Appature will then begin syncing all your Appature data. It will take up to 3 hours to sync all the data.

PLEASE NOTE: Appature will only have access to the licenses of the user who generated the API key.

For example, Company A is an organization that has 2 grow licenses, and 2 retail licenses. The head grower, who only has access to the two grow licenses, generates an API key for use with Appature. Appature will only sync the data from those 2 grow licenses. If the organization wants to also see the retail licenses, they will either need to enter an additional METRC API key from a user that has access to those two licenses, or replace the original key with a key generated from someone who has access to ALL their licenses.
